paris... day two. we woke up early, and had a fantastic breakfast at the hotel. it was so good! all i ate was eggs- i miss them so much. they had a neat little hard boiled egg maker- i want one. we then got on a train to versailles, and walked around there. it was beautiful! the grounds were outstanding and apparently it is even better in the summer when the flowers are blooming. the ceilings inside were were amazing, and everything was covered in gold. it was quite a fancy place. after this, jake, maddy, liza, jen, shar, and i went to the tuileries. this is an outside garden where you can sit and read or eat a nice lunch. there were a lot of neat statues, and i loved all the kids running around playing. i would love to have something this beautiful be my playground when i was little. there were bordeaux boats floating in the water, and little boys pushing them around- it was adorable. oh and there were little kids playing soccer! it was so cute. a gerald r. ford moment i think- but really the whole trip has been so far.
after relaxing for a bit, we got a crepe and walked up the champs de lise, shopped a little, and went to the arc de triomphe. this was way bigger than i had ever imagined! we climbed to the top... all 284 stairs, but the view was amazing. you could see everything. i loved it!
after, we went to a really yummy dinner with tori and mark kate. i had the best pizza i have ever had. i loved it. it had mozzarella, ham and artichokes on it. i could eat it everyday. after dinner, we went on a boat cruise on the seine. it was so cold, but so cool to see everything lit up at night- the perfect way to end the day! oh... and my favorite part about today- couches in the metro station! there was an ikea advertisement, with couches and lamps... how fun huh?
